Our last trip in the truck was December, even then it was far too hot to be camping out, but we decided to give it a go anyway. I had never experienced humidity like that before, even Singapore and Thailand were dryer.
It was a last minute decision to even go up for the night, but we had nothing better to do, so we convoyed up to Hedland with my workmate and her BF. Along the way we stopped to check out some big rock formations, yes, rocks, theres not alot else to look at round here! We did pass horses and cows along the way too, I don't know how they survive out there.
Anyway, after stopping at Maccas for dinner, we had a dip in the pool at a local camp. The water was hotter than than air, we had to hose off afterward to cool down.
That night we camped up at I think what the locals call "sand spit" or something. we got no sleep that night, it was way too hot and there was a group of people racing round behind us all night on quad bikes.
The next day, after a bit of shopping, we went for a drive along the edge of Hedland, no place for a swim though, then it was back home, but not before I drove us an hour in the wrong direction! We were tired long before this point, so I just wanted to get home.BW turned us around and we were back to Newman by 7pm that night. The truck over heated on the way back too so since then we haven't been able to go off road, we need to get it sorted before we venture out again. So that was our last trip, so we've being doing alot more things around town, it's just lucky for us we have friends with pools to keep us entertained and its too hot to go camping now anyway.
